General FAQs

Do you offer online sessions?
Yes. I work predominantly online via Zoom. I also offer ‘walk & talk’ therapy where we can meet outside in one of London’s parks. We can talk through what feels most comfortable and convenient for you.

How do I book a session?
You can use the contact form or email me directly to arrange your free 15-minute consultation.

How do I pay for sessions?
Payment is made in advance of each session. I’ll share details once we agree a time to work together.

Do you offer reduced rates?
Yes, I offer a limited number of reduced-fee spaces for those on low incomes or experiencing financial difficulty. Please enquire about availability.

What’s your cancellation policy?
I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations. Sessions cancelled after this time will be charged at the full rate.

Is everything we talk about confidential?
Yes, confidentiality is a core part of therapy. I work within strict ethical guidelines to protect your privacy. There are rare exceptions where confidentiality may have to be breached if you pose a risk of significant harm to yourself, or if there is risk of significant harm to another person or child.

Do you follow a professional ethical framework?
Yes. I'm a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in line with their Ethical Framework. This ensures I practise with professionalism, care and integrity at all times. You can read more at www.bacp.co.uk.

Counselling FAQs

What is your counselling approach?
I’m an integrative counsellor, which means I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches to best suit your individual needs. My work is grounded in psychodynamic theory, person-centred values, and trauma-informed practice. This means we might look at patterns from the past, how you're feeling in the present, and ways to build resilience going forward.

Should I prepare anything before the first session?
There’s no need to prepare anything. Just come as you are.

Do you take notes during sessions?
I do not take notes during our sessions but I do keep clinical records stored securely and in-line with data protection laws.

Should I choose weekly or fortnightly sessions?
Weekly sessions are usually recommended as they help build a foundation of trust and continuity. But bi-weekly or monthly sessions are also possible. I can suit your needs depending on availability.

How long will I need counselling?
This depends on you. Some people come for a set number of sessions (e.g. 6–12), while others choose to work together longer-term. We’ll check in regularly and make decisions together as we go.
